Winter Night

Hello beauties!

Wow, time DOES flies! Here we are already in November and Winter is about to knock at our door…are you ready? I am, of course! LOL!

Do you want to catch up with what our awesome Design Team showed us during October? If so, you can easily check out our October Archive! What I love most about being on this team is that we are so different and we are able to use and show IndigoBlu products in our special way!

Let’s talk about the project I want to share with you all today. It is a Jumbo Tag that I altered with… quite a lot of things!

I started by covering the whole Jumbo Tag with pieces of the IndigoBlu Fontastic Ephemera Mixed Media Paper – I covered everything with white PVA glue and with a spatula I applied randomly a mix of GeeSso Good and IndigoBlu English Cottage Artist’s Acrylic Paint. You barely can recognize the paper, can’t you?

I wasn’t going for any particular shade or shape, I just added colours with both my spatula and my own fingers. I let it dry and then I grabbed a smaller Tag and repeated the same exact thing. This time I only added gesso and no colour. I set it aside to dry. Then I stitched it to the first Jumbo Tag, layering some scraps between the two.

Since I added fibres (I actually used an old baby wipe) I decided to go with the “natural” look if that is what I can call it, run on my balcony and stole from the parsley plant some old “branches”. I tied them together with a wire and covered it with Gold paint and gesso.

I grabbed a small canvas and covered it with book pages and then coloured with Acrylic Paint; I love this Burning Bonfire colour! I applied through the new Texture Stencil from IndigoBlu some modelling paste and then added some stamps on the sides. Cut the door and roof from another piece of Mixed Media Paper from the IndigoBlu line and the windows from old book pages. Added gesso to make it look like snow.

When everything was dry I added details with a black marker.

I used FlitterGlu and Chariot of Fire Mega Flakes to add here and there some touches of Gold.

I didn’t apply the FlitterGlu “they way Kay taught us”; instead I put a bit of it over my craft sheet, and with a finger I tapped it randomly over the tag and then covered the FlitterGlu with the Mega Flakes.

Although this way is an alternative way that works, I have to admit that I had a bit of troubles making it stick correctly because of course my fingers where all full of glue! It was super fun though! LOL!!!

And here is the whole Jumbo Tag! I added stamps around the background too to add some more….texture!

What do you think?

Did you ever try to add Mega Flake with your fingers or a brush? Or you use it only with stamps?

Stay happy stay creative, till next time!

  3. Oh Zoey! This is cool as mud! I love how you added the baby wipe for some extra fluff! Love the stitching and the house you made from the mini canvas – such cool ideas!!! I used to do a lot of work in this style and this piece has certainly made me miss it! Will have to get messy and grunge something up a bit. Thanks so much! 🙂
