Frosty Mornings

Hi there, it’s Elizabeth here.

Today I’m sharing a small framed scene created using some new stamps from IndigoBlu and those lovely Floral Vignettes papers.

I began by cutting out a circle from one of the 12×12 Floral Vignettes papers, making sure I cut around the wings of the butterfly, to keep it intact.

Then using a paper distresser I went around the circle aperture carefully avoiding the Butterfly wing, and also around the outer edge of the sheet, for some extra texture.

After measuring through the aperture onto a piece of white cardstock, I then stamped out my scene from the new Clumber Park stamp set using Jet Black Stazon ink. After giving it a quick blast with a heat gun to make sure the ink was totally dry, I glued the Floral Vignette Paper over the top to create a frame.

I then added some of the Fine Texture Paste using two of the new stencils Laurel and Texture. Then after making sure the paste was dry I added a coat of watered down white GeeSsoGood and let that dry. Then using a piece of Phat Foam I added Some Goldfinger Metallic Paint around the edges, and also on the raised stencil paste.

To add some Autumnal colours to the stamped image, I used Banana Custard Cottage Garden Paint for the sky and Hot Cocoa Cottage Garden Paint for the shrubs. Then no Autumn morning is without mist or frost, so a heavy spritzing of Snow White Metallic Paint mixed one part paint to four parts water creates a chilly misty layer over the top.

So there you have it a frosty morning walk with the dog, or three in my case.
