You’re Bloomin’ Great Card

Hello everyone and welcome! Ksenija here today, and I am sharing a card featuring Floral Vignettes released recently.

Floral Vignettes is exceptionally beautiful Mixed Media card stack with luscious botanical designs that couple successfully with many of IndigoBlu red rubber stamps. For my card I selected You’re Bloomin’ Great stamp set.

I started with creating a panel cut from a cream colour card stock to 14 x 8 cm (5 1/2 x3 1/8″) and sponging Distress inks in Antique Linen and Rusty Hinge.

Then I placed Texture stencil onto the panel and bleached through it with a regular household bleach solution, removed the stencil and heat set the pattern. Next I stamped down the frame onto the panel in Aged Mahogany Distress ink, heat set the image and having slightly off set the positioning stamped it again with FlitterGlu and gilded with Megaflakes in Autumn Blaze.

I fussy cut two bigger roses and a butterfly out of Mixed Media card and partially cut out two smaller roses. The smaller roses I painted with a diluted English Cottage Artist’s Acrylic Paint in Goldfinger.

Once the acrylic paint has dried, I adhered the roses in two layers to the panel with a liquid adhesive, distressed the panel edges in Gathered Twigs and added a soft shading around the roses with a water brush in Pumice Stone Distress ink. To finish off the panel I added a few drops of English Cottage Artist’s Acrylic Paint in Goldfinger and Hot Cocoa.

To create the sentiment I stamped it down on a piece of cream colour card stock in Jet Black Archival ink, die cut a circle and distressed the edge with Distress inks in Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany. Assembling the card I glued the panel to a folded card base with a liquid adhesive, foam taped the butterfly and the circle sentiment.

  1. Such clever ideas for using and altering the papers on this Ksenija. I love how you’ve used the Texture stencil to bleach the background too.

    • Thank you, Jenny. I find interesting to combine Floral Vignettes and images from Bloomin’ Great or Live Laugh Love red rubber stamp sets
