Paint, Fussy Cutting and My Girl

Hello everyone,

So happy to be here with a painted and fussy cut layout of my now Senior Girl.  These photos were from a fun trip to Canada to teach in an exceptional store called Scrap Addicts.  What an incredible trip, hosts and experience for my daughter and I.  I wanted to capture the fun we had.  The Indigoblu Floral Vignettes Collection and paints are so easy to create beautiful layouts with.

This layout has an incredible amount of layers and texture by using the Banana Custard Acrylic paint mixed with a touch of the Pantry White Acrylic paint mixed to create the color I obtained for the painted background.  I then fussy cutted many butterflies as well as punched the floral collection paper with a butterfly punch.  The addition of colored pearls were added to the body of the butterflies to give it a bling effect.

Notice all the areas I added paint, to the background, on the letters and ON THE PICTURES!  I love this effect, dont be afraid to use techniques like this on your actual photos.

I used my “go to” stamps for the wording, A5 Design Alphabet which I just adore and gives that little vintage flair that I love to add to my projects.  I used a number of “old school” techniques in this layout and I have included more photos showing these up close.  Enjoy.

I used the paint on a thin brush to create frames around the alphabet on each letter, then followed it up with a calligraphy pen.  You can see in this photo where I also added paint and pen lines around the hand punched butterfly and the photos of the my daughter as well.

I love using old school techniques, they never go out of style.  Think about some of the ways you did things when you first started or if you were around crafting when you were younger and give them a try, what fun it can to discover them once again.

Be Inspired.  With All Your Heart.
