Christmas Light

Hi it’s Elizabeth here and today!

I’d like to share a little Re-cycling project,  I just couldn’t resist using this flat sided jam jar to create a Christmas tea light, so before you get rid of those empties, check out that Re-cycling bin!

Here are the IndigoBlu Goodies I used to create my Christmas Tea light.

IMGP0002 (159)

I started by stamping the houses from the new A6 Snow Globe stamp set onto silk paper, using Midnight Blue Stazon ink. Then after making sure the ink was completely dry, I tore gently along the edges then applied the stamped image to the jam jar using Slap It On, adding another layer carefully over the top. While this was drying I die-cut a concertina snowflake from the Christmas Compendium 12″x 12″ papers, they cut like a dream.

I stamped the word “Joy” from the Here Comes Santa A5 stamp set onto the centre of the die cut snowflake, again using Midnight Blue Stazon ink . Once the Slap It On was dry I then loaded up my Phat foam with FlittGlu and applied it around the top of the jar, working my way down the edges of the jar, and also around the edges of the die cut snowflake.

I love the different colours in the Royal Peacock Mega-Flakes they are perfect for Christmas projects as they are so rich. I applied to the snowflake and jar, then very carefully removed any excess with my Scoochy pad.

IMGP0007 (70) I stamped a couple of stars using the star stamp from the A6 Merry Christmas set in Goldfinger paint, then after watering the paint down to create a wash, went over the houses on the side’s of the jar to give a warm glow. I then raided the gardening cupboard for some twine to tie around the neck of the jam jar and added the snowflake. Then to finish off the whole jar had a splattering of watered down Goldfinger paint, followed by watered down Snow White metallic paint.

We are here with another Christmas Blog Post on Monday from Monika.

Thank You! Elizabeth x
