Christmas Card

Hello Everyone!

Zoey’s here today with a Christmas Card made with some awesome new releases!!
I hope you checked out the rest of the IndigoBlu design team posts. They have showed us so many exciting ways to use all the new Christmas stamp releases! If you haven’t seen them yet make sure you check out their inspirational projects by visiting our BLOG ARCHIEVE here.

For this projects I used a sheet from the new mixed media paper pad  IndigoBlu Christmas Compendium – Mixed Media Paper Pad 6×6. What I love about these papers, beside the cool vintage-ish images is the fact that the surface is sooo smooth and our IndigoBlu Acrylic paints work perfectly on them! For this Card I used the beautiful Sleeping Beauty Metallic Paint.

As soon as the Indigoblu Snow Globe stamp was released the first idea that came to mind was a classic city background encased in a Christmas Snow Globe — these kind of things are so popular where I live during Christmas time.
To start I randomly painted a coat of Indigoblu GeeSso Good! Gesso  – White onto a brown luggage tag.  I let this quickly dry, but not completely. I then added with a spatula some colour with our IndigoBlu Sleeping Beauty Metallic Paint. I left the paint to dry and then I stamped the city scape with a StazOn Midi Ink in Jet Black.

I then stamped over the city scape with the Indigoblu Snow Globe Stamp  using our IndigoBlu FlitterGlu, then I quickly added some IndigoBlu Winter Dawn Mega Flakes . This produced the effect of  a shaken snow globe to add to the classic Christmas Snow Globe image.

To  add extra texture I then added some modelling paste to a star patterned stencil.

My next step was to  grab a few pieces  from the Indigoblu Christmas Compendium – Mixed Media Paper Pad 6×6 and I glued my tag over the paper. I roughly cut some detailed backgrounds from the papers and also the “Merry Christmas” sentiment. Using these sections I layered up a background, making the IndigoBlu Snow Globe the attention of this project.

My next step was to add subtle hints of the IndigoBlu Sleeping Beauty Metallic paint with a wet brush to compliment the main feature of the Snow Globe.

It is AWESOME the fact that the paper didn’t crumple a little!

Finally I stitched everything together…and my card was ready! What do you think about it? I love the vintage look of it!

Stay Creative, Stay Happy…till next time!

Ciao, Zoey
