Merry Stockings!

Hello everyone! Zoey here today to show you a project I made using the brand new Clearly IndigoBlu stamps.

If you missed the announcement of this new stamp release, I strongly suggest you to head over this post to read all about the new stamp line… IndigoBlu just took another step forward in the AMAZING stamping world!

A few days ago Marie showed us a way to use these stamps into a not so Christmas related card; you can check out the blog post here.

I was inspired by her post because I am one of these people that is not “fan” of Christmas. I mean… I love the season and everything, I just am not able to create Christmas Projects without turning them into something really dark (LOL!!)… and also it is really hard for me to get into the “Christmas Mood” now, but these stamps have something extraordinary that inspired me to create with any issue…. sooo… here’s my first project as a Design Team Member in this awesome family.

I started the project by covering two pieces of cardboard with a page of an old book I got from the thrift shop – I then used a very old and dry brush to apply the Indigoblu GeeSso Good! Gesso – White — this will act as resist for when I will apply the rest of the colours. I coloured the background with few IndigoBlu English Cottage Paints ( Metallic Copper , Ruby Slippers Metallic , Metallic Gold and Hot Cocoa) and to add some dark around the sides I used IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! Gesso – Black. To add some texture to the background I stamped here and there using IndigoBlu Sarah’s Choice (the script) with StazOn Midi Ink in Jet Black.

Then it was time to add some shine!! So I grabbed my Mega Flake (Lancashire Rose) and the stamp Crackleglaze Background A6 and stamped in the corner. Since I didn’t want anything “too shiny” I made sure to remove a bit of FlitterGlu from the stamp where I didn’t want to get the stamped image.

On a piece of paper from the Mixed Media Paper collection Indigoblu Fontastic Ephemera, I stamped the brand new Clearly Indigoblu “Christmas Stocking” again with StazOn Midi Ink in Jet Black. I colored it with a mix of Metallic Copper and Ruby Slippers Metallic then with a black pen I redefined the borders. Using the “sketchy” stamp from the same set I added again some shine by using the Mega Flake Lancashire Rose. I then fussy cut the stocking, but I accidentally cut too much removing part of the sketchy stamp. So with the sponge I added the FlitterGlu randomly on the stamp and added some more Mega Flake Lancashire Rose.

Then all I had to do was assembling everything together… and here’s the final project!

What do you think about it? I hope you will like it and that you will also try to mix all these products together!

Stay Creative, Stay Happy…till next time!

Ciao, Zoey
