Big Holly Belle Epoque

A warm welcome to my very first post for IndigoBlu, my name is Baerbel.

When we were introduced to the amazing stamp sets of Clearly IndigoBlu we all had a hard time to decide which one to use. They are all so appealing and I will definetely use them all!

Today I want to show you one of my favourite techniques of all times, and since I have been looking for a very long time for the perfect paint to achieve the effect, IndigoBlu offers them along with the perfect stamps for the technique.

I stamped ”Big Holly‘ with StazOn ‘Ganache’ on a clear plastic sheet. Try to find a sturdy material, to achieve the most beautiful result. After the print has dried, I used the IndigoBlu acrylic paints to colour the image from the back. The best part of the colouring process is how you can mix the paint on the go, while putting the paint on the plastic you can blend colours with each other.

I used Pantry White, Emerald City and Peppermint Tea to colour the leaves and Postbox Red for the berries. Let dry the paint completely and then turn the plastic to see the the front. Try to avoid static charge of the plastic and use your antistatic cloth if available. Apply FlitterGlu and stamp over the leaves, add Megaflakes Chariot of Fire and wipe off the excess. Polish with your sponge. Do not worry about any small spots of gold on your plastic, they add a pretty and aged effect to the card!

Cut a sheet of Belle Epoque paper to match your card, add some StazOn to the edges with a sponge for an aged effect and attach to a craftpaper card, then stamp sentiment with StazOn to the front of your plastic piece. I used „Merry Christmas“ which I have cut from the Merry Christmas Deer. Punch a small hole to each corner of the plastic and attach the plastic to the card with matching brads. If you like, you can add some cord around your plastic sheet before putting in the two brads on the bottom.

On the next close up you can see the fun effect you can achieve with clear plastic: Play with the transparent material and wrap cord over or under your stamp image.

I hope you like the technique. I will do more cards with this technique because there are so much more possibilities!

Yours, Baerbel
