Dianne’s butterfly canvas

Hi Gez back again, thank you for a lovely warm welcome and all of your kind comments last week. I’ve another project to share with you today that I made for the UK trade show back in January, which seems so long ago already now!

My apologies in advance for the poor lighting and backgrounds on my photographs I tend to work intuitively and forget my basic photographic skills!!

I started with a flat canvas and painted around the edges using English Cottage Artists Acrylic paint in Townhouse Teal.

I Flitterglued and added some of the Sheffield Steel MegaFlakes to the canvas, wanting the grungy look! I then randomly stamped Limor Webber’s gorgeous Signature Inks Splats around the edges using Pumpkin StazOn to add a contrast to the Townhouse Teal paint.

Next, I took a sheet of IndigoBlu Mixed Media paper from the Vintage Memories 12″x12″ stack, shabbied (is that a word!) the edges using Distress Ink and scissors and added a line of stiching.. it’s coming along..

I held my breath, shut my eyes!! and stamped Dianne directly onto the mixed media paper!

I also added a couple more butterflies to the canvas to make it more 3D along with the sentiment.

The finished canvas!

I am really pleased how it turned out! It was lovely to get lost in the process, glad I managed to take at least some photographs. Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance. Gez
