Delightful Dianne

Morning everyone, hope you are having a good start to the week and the snow didn’t impact on you too much at the weekend.  A few of my colleagues said it was really heavy but went almost as soon as it came.  Hope you stayed safe on the roads.

I went down south for the weekend, so avoided it all together.  Has been cold though, we were carpeting my little van yesterday in the back, and it was so cold down the garage!

Today I thought I’d share a canvas with you that I made for CHSI last weekend, I know Jenny has shared some pics of the stand with you – it was amazing, looked so beautiful.  There are so many possibilities with the new stamps, they are fab to work with.

I used Dianne, and one of the sentiments from Funny Bird, which is just great!

I started with a 12×12 canvas, and added one of the new Indigoblu paper’s, gluing it on to the canvas, from the Belle Epoque collection.  This was given a light coat of Gee Sso Good, watered down slightly so the pattern still shows through in places.  I then used Diamond stencil, and Goldfinger paint, to add some background detail.  I used Gee Sso good again to stamp some of Limor Webber’s Circles stamps, around the edges.

I attached burlap, torn paper from the paper pad, and stampedsplattered butterflies from Limor in Chariot of fire megaflake, cutting out the central butterfly.  The flower’s were die cut from Tim Holtz tattered floral border, out of Indigoblu Belle Epoque paper, and again coated with a light covering of gesso.  Pretty buttons were added, and some torn paper.

Dianne was stamped onto separate torn paper from the same pad, and coloured with prismacolour pencils to add some depth.  Again she was layered up with flowers, torn paper and butterflies to miror the top corner.  The sentiment was then stamped and torn out, and added with pinflair to stand out slightly.  The whole canvas was then splattered with watered down white Gee Sso good.

Let us know what you think of the new stamps – I seem to have used nearly all of them in one canvas!

Hope you have a good week whatever you are doing,

Best Wishes,

Nikki K.
