Pinch and a punch for the first of the month!

Happy October!

What an exciting day …… the brand new British Craft Network launched at 9am this morning …… an internet channel dedicated totally to craft!! Tune in at 11am this morning and again at 7pm to see our very own Kay on there, showcasing the fabulous range of  IndigoBlu products.  There’ll be loads of tips and techniques and great ideas showing you how to get the most from your stash!  Don’t miss it!

I’ve just got back from a fabulous weekend trip to London with hubby. We did all the usual stuff …. saw the sights, ate fabulous food, drank nice wine, and walked miles!!!  The weather was so nice, it was hard to believe we were almost in October!  But, here we are, 1st of the month again …….. and Autumn is on it’s way.

One thing we did see while we were there was the Poppy display at the Tower of London.  If you get the chance you must go and see it ….. it’s breathtaking!  I wasn’t prepared for the effect it would have on me ….. it’s so overwhelming, and emotional.

019It’s amazing just how many poppies are out there …… and it’s nowhere near finished

015It’s so sad to think what each one of them represents

016

Inspired by our little trip, I made this when we got back ……

001 (2)

using the Poppy Meadow stamp set.

Simple, but striking.  A single poppy, stamped in black and embossed using a clear powder, then coloured using Alcohol markers

002

I added the border across the bottom using the hessian stamp from Sarah’s Choice and finished it off with a red ribbon

004

The words are from Poppy Meadow, stamped in black, then I’ve splashed a little red ink over the top

005

A little bit of interest added to the inside  gives the finishing touch

006Hope you like it.

Thanks for popping by ……. enjoy the rest of your day.

Until next time …..

Lindy Lou xx
