Guest Blogger Julie

Hi everyone Clare here. Today I would like to introduce you to a wonderful lady, Julie Cassidy. She will be guest blogging for us for a few weeks. Here is what she had to say:

Hi my name is Julie Cassidy I am married and live in Yorkshire with my hubby and a mad dog called Ruby. I have always been interested in crafting since being a child… now it is my therapy, I find it very relaxing, I am lucky enough to have a craft room where I can play all day. I met Kay and her team at shows but recently I attended a retreat and enjoyed it sooooo much, I sent Kay some cards to look at and guess what she liked them and consequently invited me to be a guest designer on the blog and a new addition to the challenge blog!!!!!! Wowzers yes yes yes was my reply and we’ll here goes.

Here is Julie’s first project for IndigoBlu.

Hi there well this is my first blog post for Indigoblu, am I nervous yep and excited tooooo,

Well here goes, here is my card a little green and red number, for Christmas.

1

first I stamped craft card with honeycomb background stamp, this was folded into an easel card by scoring A4 card at 7 ½ cms and 15 cms.

The bear Alyosius is my favorite stamp, he is sooo versatile.

I stamped him in versafine ink, this gives a lovely clear crisp image and shows off all his fur.
The crown was stamped again using flitter glue and mega flakes winter dawn, now he has a bling crown for Christmas. This was cut out and popped over the stamped image using dimensional glue.

2

The background card was stamped with square peg round hole, distressed and inked using distress ink and a brush.

3

The sentiment was stamped using the design alaphabet, the letters for merry were punched out and inked, the christmas were stamped onto the card and the edges distressed and flitter glue was dabbed onto the edges and winter dawn mega flakes added.

You can see the background stamping here, then a red piece of card was torn to highlight Alyosius.

  2. Hello Julie and thank you for inspiring me. A lovely card. ‘Christmas’ is such a long word to stamp with the individual letters, I’ve not had the patience to try it! The way things are going for me just now, I’d probably mess up the last ‘s’ and get really cross with myself!! Thank you, Jan
