In Stitches.

Morning everyone,

Today I’m sharing with you my DT piece for the Indigoblu Challenge blog this month.

The theme over on the challenge is a sketch, which the lovely Clare Horner designed for us, so it means you can use absolutely any Indigoblu stamps you have, just follow the DT inspiration for your layout.

I have never used the In Stitches, or the Sewing Mends the Soul stamp sets, but had recently bought them for myself to do some classes with.  I thought this was the perfect time to have a play with them.

I seem to have a thing for the sepia theme at the moment,  so I stamped the background in Vintage Sepia versafine, second gen stamping with the scissors, and edged the panel in vintage photo distress ink.

I then wrapped a piece of East of India tape measure ribbon around the base panel.  The two panels were stamped and edged the same, but I then distressed them with the edge of the scissors.  The buttons were highlighted with glossy accents to make them stand out, as was the label on the lady stamp.  I stamped a border of thimbles, masking as I went round the edges.

These were layered up, and some embellishments added, a ribbon and pins add the final touch to the sketch.

The funny thing is, I really don’t sew at all, I even leave things for the ‘sewing fairy’ to fix for me (sorry husband!)

But I absolutely love this stamp set, it’s so vintage and elegant.

Have a lovely week,

Best Wishes,
