Daisy stencil.

Morning everyone,

I hope you’ve had a good weekend, doesn’t Monday come round too quick!

If you were at Indigoblu HQ on friday I hope you had a great time at the coffee morning, and enjoyed Kay and Clare’s make and takes.  And of course, on Saturday, Jenny’s amazing  book class, and Sunday was Kay’s beautiful frame.  I’m so annoyed I couldn’t go myself!

There are a lot more classes coming up at Indigoblu, we have the retreats, and on Saturday October 11th, there is the Ice Resin workshop with me, from 10am til 4pm, using paints, stamping, megaflakes, and of course, Ice Resin.

On to my card for today, it’s one I did at a demo a week or so ago.  I love the daisy stencil, and Kay’s sunset version with the tulip stencil and the cottage paints, but I wanted to try it with spraying the paints.  I used wimberry pie, and pink iced gem in little spray bottles, mixed with a bit of water, and sprayed a background piece of card.  This doubled as the matting and layering piece of card, and the base for stencilling.

Tape the stencil down with tape, and put some neat paint onto your craft mat.  Pick it up with a piece of phat foam, and sponge all over the piece of card and the stencil, so the whole thing is covered.  I used the brand new metallic ‘Aladdin‘ paint.

Peel away the stencil and you are left with the lovely background showing through the daisys.  I added the sentiment from a free stamp set a while ago, and layered it.

You can use all sorts of different colours for this technique, and when you peel away the stencil it’s always a surprise.

The new blog challenge is up and running as well, why not pop across and take a look, and join us if you have time.  It’s based on a sketch this month by the lovely Clare Horner, so you can use ANY Indigoblu stamps you like!

Have a great week,

Best Wishes,

Nikki K. xx

  1. This is lovely. I love my daisy stencil but do tend to stick to doing the same thing with it. I’ll have to get it out and have a play with different backgrounds. Thank you, Jan
