A flutter of butterflies ……

Good morning folks ….. Happy Wednesday!

I hope that September has got off to a good start for you.  I’ve got a bit of a busy month coming up, what with birthdays, visitors,  trips to the UK (whoo hoo!!) as well as all the usual stuff!!!!   And …… according to the countdown thingy on my blog, it’s only 112 days off Christmas!!  Ho! Ho! Ho!

Don’t worry …. I’m not going all festive on you again this morning (‘thank goodness’ ….. I heard that!)   I’m still hoping for the Indian Summer that we get told is coming every year ……. the sun is shining here this morning, so maybe it’s on its way ….. fingers crossed eh!

Are you one of our Facebook followers?  If you are, you may have spotted yesterday that we were having a little Giveaway ….. a set of the fabulous Butterfly Collector stamps was up for grabs.  Congratulations if you were the winner (the Giveaway closed this morning at 10am I believe) …… you’ll love the stamps (I do!!)

Here’s a little something made using just two of the smaller butterfly images from the set ……

069

I started by masking off a panel, down the side of a piece of white cardstock …….  then used various shades of Distress ink to add some colour.  With the mask still in place, I flicked some water over the inked panel, left it for a few seconds then mopped up the excess using kitchen roll.

I then stamped the small butterflies, randomly across the panel, using Black Versafine ink.  You can see I’ve stamped some of them over the edge of the inked panel, to add a touch of depth.

You could colour in your butterflies now using Distress inks again, or alcohol markers perhaps, or pencils, whatever you’re happy with.  But another option is, as I’ve done here …….. stamp the butterflies again onto some coloured card-stock and cut them out  (I used a leftover piece from another project … I don’t like to throw anything away!)  You could use pieces of scrapbook paper, or old book pages would be nice.  It depends on whether you like to fussy cut or not, I suppose …. or how much time you have!

Anyway …. I stamped and cut out all by butterflies and them attached them over the top of the original stamped images ….. note I didn’t cut around all the antennae!!

072

I stamped my sentiment across the bottom (taken from the Bear Hugs set), and added some colour to the inside …..

Judging by the number of comments left on the  IndigoBlu Facebook Giveaway yesterday, you’re loving these stamps as much as we do!

If you weren’t lucky with the Giveaway this time I’m sure there’ll be more in the future ….. keep your eye on our Facebook page!

Thanks for popping by …. enjoy the rest of  your day and have a great week.

Cheerio until next time
