A few good friends ……

Happy Wednesday!

These weeks are just flying by!  What a busy month this is proving to be …….. we’re in double figures in September already (sigh!)   It doesn’t help that I’m off the island more than I’m on it this month  ……. or so it feels like!

But ……. enough of all that.  As we’re part way through our latest IndigoBlu challenge I thought I’d give you a little bit of inspiration (hopefully!)  just in case you’re still thinking about entering.  If you pop over to the challenge blog today too, you’ll find lots of great ideas from the rest of the DT along with some of our new demonstrators …… welcome ladies!

This months theme is …… Indian Summer.  What does that conjure up for you ….. hot summer days, followed by warm summer nights.  Or warm days with the rich colours of Autumn bursting through.

This just about sums it up for me …….

It’s  a really simple to make calendar and note pad.  All you need is some Post-It Notes, a calendar for next year and of course your favourite IndigoBlu Stamps.

I started by inking a piece of white chipboard using Distress inks ….. nice warm shades like Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Festive Berries and a touch of Aged Mahogany.  I also used my favourite technique of flicking water over the top to remove some of the colour.

I then stamped one of the pretty grass silhouettes from IndigoBlu across the bottom, using a black Archival ink.  The one I’ve used is from Poppy Meadow but there are a few to choose from, just use your favourite.  I punched two holes in the top corners and attached a piece of coloured twine.

I then mounted my calendar and Post-It notes onto black cardstock and attached them to a strip of self adhesive cork paper from my stash, that I’d placed down the side of the inked chipboard

I cut a piece of white cardstock to fit along side and used the Distress inks again to add some colour.  You can see I used a circle mask to create the look of the sun. Once I was happy with the depth of the colour  I stamped the image (from B.F.F.) on the bottom, using black Versafine ink.

When the ink was dry, I added a coat of Glossy Accents to the wine bottle and glass …..

attached the panel alongside the Post-Its, using foam pads and finished off by adding a cute little cork for a little more interest

Hope you like it.   Here’s to many more Indian Summer nights ………  Cheers!

Don’t forget you have until 8pm on September 20th to get your challenge entries in …… have fun and Good Luck!

Thanks for popping by ……. have a great week!

Cheerio until next time

  1. I love the colours and ideas on this one. I might even have a go at making one. Have to look for the wine bottle stamp. Thank you, Jan
