I’m back!!! ……

Happy Wednesday folks,

Thanks to the lovely Clare for filling in for me last week ….. a bit of a last minute panic when I arrived home from my trip across to the UK.  My little old laptop was playing up again ….. oh no!!! (that’ll teach me for taking the MacBook away with me!!)

I couldn’t even switch it on …. and you know what it’s like, my life is on that machine!! Not to mention all my photos for my blog etc!  Even the best tech support couldn’t help though (that’s hubby by the way), it’s had it!!  We just need to figure someway of firing it up one last time, long enough for me to get everything off it!!!

Oh well …. new laptop is on order (whoo hoo!) and until it arrives I’m having to grit my teeth and use the Mac!!!  This post could take a while!

Anyway ….. enough of my computer woes. I’ve got a quick little project for you today using a brand new set of IndigoBlu stamps called Butterfly Collector.  You may have already seen these in the Craft Stamper Magazine ….. they were available, exclusively, as part of the subscription gift for the last couple of months.  Well ……. I believe they’re launching on the website sometime during August, so everyone can now get their hands on this fabulous set.  I couldn’t spot them on the website today, but if you really want them and can’t wait, then give the team a call I’m sure they’ll be able to sort them for you.

IB Blog 2

It’s a bookmark ……. I know, most of us have Kindles or something similar these days, and we don’t need bookmarks any longer, but ….  I must confess, I still like to read an actual book sometimes.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my little e-reader  it’s just every now and then I like to curl up with a good old fashioned book.

Anyway, for those of you who do still buy paperbacks or hardbacks here’s something pretty to keep those pages marked.

I actually bought a pack of blank bookmarks, along with their plastic covers, from one of the craft shows (I think they’re by Stix2 but don’t quote me on that).  If you can’t find these don’t worry, just cut a piece of card to the size you want and away you go.

I started by colouring mine using various shades of Distress inks …… Worn lipstick, Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw.  I then flicked some water over the top to give me that splattered look

I used the silhouette grasses from the stamp set across the bottom, with Onyx Black Versafine ink.  I then stamped the sentiment onto white card, cut away the border and then cut each of the words individually.  I then arranged these in the centre of the bookmark, before stamping my butterflies, to make sure that I had them in the right place

Once I was happy with the layout, I stamped the butterflies directly onto the bookmark, and also again onto some white card, coloured with the same Distress Inks.  These were then fussy cut and layered over the top of the stamped images

I edged each one of the words with a touch of Worn Lipstick Distress ink and then glued them into place.  Before matting the whole thing onto some black card stock, I ran a touch of Flitter Glu around the edge and finished off with Manchester Tart Mega Flake.  Some co-ordinating seam binding ribbon adds the final touch.

Hope you like it.

Don’t forget our latest challenge is up and running ….. Christmas in July.  We want you to get all festive this month with your IndigoBlu stamps …… Ho! Ho! Ho! and all that.

Thanks for popping by ……. enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio until next time
