I’m home! ….. for a few days at least anyway

Hi folks,

I’m actually blogging this whilst  still on my holidays (Monday)  …… I should really be finishing the packing but you know what it’s like …. I’m trying to make the holiday last just that little bit longer, before we start on our epic journey home …… a 9 hours 50 minute flight back to Gatwick, then 5 hours hanging around in the flippin’ airport, looking forward to that ….. not!!  I suppose there’s always the shops to keep my busy, that’s if I can stay awake.  Jet lag may well have kicked in, we’re 8 hours behind in Vegas and I’ll have just done an overnight flight – I can’t sleep on a plane so Grumpy won’t come into it!!!!  Then finally the last leg is an hour  flight back to the island.  Home again!

So ……. by the time this post goes live I shall be back on Isle of Man soil after a fabulous trip to a very HOT, and very busy Las Vegas, but I’ll probably be in bed!!!  (ZZzzzz!)

Anyhow ……. on to the crafty stuff.  I’ve got a little project for you today using the pretty little rose stamp that you can find on the Clock Work stamp set, along with the Diamond Stencil and a little bit of masking.

This is such a pretty little flower image.  I kept things quite simple here, but if you had a bit more time you could carry this on and create a fabulous wreath.  Stamp more of the flowers, use different colours and layer them up to add dimension, it would look stunning.

I started out by stamping the rose image in the middle (ish) of  a piece of white card.  I made myself a mask using a post-it note (make sure that you stamp some of the image over the sticky part so that it will hold in place), with this in place I then stamped the image again either side of the first one.

Using Distress Inks and a little water, I added some colour to the beautiful blooms

I then cut a piece of white card approximately 2 inches wide, and randomly stamped the rose image to cover it. Using my distress inks again I added colour to the background this time, leaving the roses white

You can see I’ve embossed a couple of lines towards the bottom of the card (slightly wider than 2 inches) and then I’ve attached the rose panel.

To finish off I’ve used the Diamond stencil, with distress ink, to add a bit more detail around the roses and added the lovely words from the Nottingham Lace stamp set

The inside has been decorated too, using the rose again and the stencil.  and I’ve added one of the words from Sarah’s Choice

A little bit of Distress ink around the edges, a layer of black card and  a few drops of glossy accents on the petals of the flowers and it’s all done.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for popping by today ….. it’s nice to be home, even if it is only for a week!

Cheerio until next time
