Spritzing, splotting, splatting. ..

Hi everyone, welcome to the start of a new week at Indigoblu again.  I hope the weekend was good for you, it was nice to see some sunshine on Sunday.

I spent an hour or two in the garden yesterday, tidying up and potting a few plants, and then relaxed for an hour to enjoy my work!

Today I’ve got a card for you for a teenager’s birthday,  and another take on it for any age.  It could be male or female easily, and is a clean, quick card to make if you are in a hurry.  (Did I say clean?)

Firstly I made a monoprint, by putting a few splots (my new word) of Pantry white and Postbox red cottage paints, mixed together on a piece of card, then squidged another piece of card on top, and ended up with the splats you see.  I also mixed a little water with some black Gee So Good, and used a long thin paintbrush, flicked at the end across the card, to make the black splatters.

I used the number 3 from Design Numbers, to stamp around the edge of the card, making it a border pattern instead of a number.

Two simple die cut circles contain the 13 and today, stamped in versafine, and Happy Birthday is stamped straight on to the card.  The circles are edged in Black Soot distress ink.

The Rocking Horse is from the Birds and Bees Altered Ego’s, coloured with the paint, and stamped over with the lace from Nottingham Lace.  It’s attached on top with Pinflair.

The second card uses the diamond stencil, which I sponged through, I think with distress ink,  and then spritzed the card with Townhouse Teal mixed with a little water in a mister bottle.   I did the same with theblack gee so good as on the other card, and then die cut a label shape twice to make the focal point.   Happy Birthday Today was stamped directly on  to the card.

So there you go, an easy technique, using the really versatile Design Number’s stamp set.  You could also add names with the Design Alphabet set, they work great together.

Just a reminder too,  don’t forget the monthly challenge is in full swing, this month’s theme is Monochromatic, and you can enter here.  We love to see your work, and the prizes have been ramped up, with a guest spot on the blog up for grabs, as well as the stamps!

The Gallery on the Indigoblu website has also been updated again this week, check it out here, lot’s more inspiration coming every week!

And of course you can join the DT here most day’s of the week, with their fab projects, and Technique Thursday every week.  If you have time after all this, don’t forget to get your fave Indigoblu stamps out and have a play!

Well I’m all splattered out now, off to help a friend paint her new house, hmmmmmmmm….

Best Wishes,

Nikki K
