Rose Blush with a Twist.

Morning everyone, I hope you had a good weekend.  I was at Strikes Garden Centre in Astbury Meadow on Saturday, and had a fab time with lots of lovely ladies who came to see me, some who stayed all day, and made it a lovely day for me.  I hope I inspired them too!

And then on Sunday, I had a lovely chilled day taking the dog to Kingsbury Water Park near us,  she even had her own ice cream, ate the lot in seconds..

Today’s card is one of my demo’s from Saturday, it’s Kay’s technique and works beautifully with the Rose Blush stamp, but would work equally well if you have any of the other floral stamps – or try it on something different!

First you ink up the flower part of your stamp, a small ink pad is useful for this, but you can use larger ones, it’s just easier to get it in certain areas with a smaller one.  Then take some flitterglu on your piece of phat foam, and ‘ink’ up the edges/leaves of your stamp with flitterglu.  Stamp, wait for your ink to dry a little (the flitterglu will stay tacky), and then apply your megaflakes (I used Morris Dance here), to the flitterglu’d areas.  Use your scoochy to take away any excess.

Then you have a part stamped, part flaked image, which looks fab.  To add to this,  mask your rose blush (by stamping on to a post it note and cutting out), add the mask, and then place your diamond stencil over the top.  I used distress inks on this card, but on another I sprayed with Indigoblu paint.  Go gently and you will get a lovely fading out diamond effect through your stencil.

I stamped a sentiment from More than Words onto a piece of card that I had used a couple of distress inks on, edged it, and added to the card.

And here is the finished card, all made up.

If you want to see how to do this and more, I will be at Weavervale Garden Centre (Winnington Lane, Winnington, Northwich CW8 4EE), on Saturday 28th June, I’d love to see you there.

Have a great week,

Best Wishes,

Nikki K.

  1. Hi Nikki – everyone had an amazing day at Strikes, Astbury Meadow on Saturday – all my ladies went away really inspired and with a lot less pennies in their purses than when they came!!!!! They want to know when you are coming again. All thought the time went much too quickly.

Thank you so much for making their day so enjoyable – you are a credit to IndigoBlu.

Hope to see you again soon.

Hugs & best wishes Ljnda, Craft Shop, Strikes Garden Centre, astbury Meadow
