Life’s a Beach!

Hi De Hi Campers!!

You can tell I’m getting in a holiday mood can’t you.  Four weeks to go on Friday,  before our little break in the Cotswolds ….. whoo hoo!  Looking forward to that.

I’ve got another project today for you using the latest stamps to join the IndigoBlu collection …… Under the Sea and the fabulous (really useful!)  Design Alphabet

I started by mixing some of the English Cottage Acrylic paints in spray bottles, with a little water.  You don’t need much of the paint, just the tip of a spatula, into a bottle, top up with water and give them a good shake.  If the colours not right, add more paint …….. if it’s too dark add a bit more water.

I spritzed around the edges of a  piece of white cardstock using Grandma’s Teacup, Park Lane and Townhouse Teal

I like to dry each colour a little before adding the next, so that they don’t mix together too much.  Once the colours were dry I then spritzed over the top with a touch of Vodka Martini ….. the metallic silver.

Mixing the metallics with water and then spritzing gives a really nice finish ……. not sure the sheen really comes across here, but trust me, it’s really pretty.

Using a brown Archival ink,  I stamped one of the shells randomly around the edge, to add a bit more interest

And then mat and layered using Kraft and navy cardstock.  You can see I did a bit of paper pricking around the edge which I think works really well.

The centre panel was coloured using the same shades of paint, only this time I took the paint directly from the pot with a paint brush, dipped the brush in a little water and washed the colour across my card, blending the shades each time.  Another spritz with the silver again to finish.

While this was drying I stamped the letter’s I needed using the Alphabet set, and some shells from Under the Sea.  Cut them all out, and added a wash of colour to the shells and seahorse.

I inked around the edges of each letter using Distress Ink (Stormy Sky) and then attached everything on the front of my card using foam pads for dimension

I finished off the inside to match ……

Hope you like it.

I suppose this really fits in with our current IndigoBlu Challenge too (anyone would think I’d planned it!)  It’s all about WORDS this month, and if you still haven’t entered, some of the DT have given you a little reminder this morning  with more inspriation pieces over on the Challenge Blog.

Before I dash off, one more thing to mention ……. any of you watching Kay’s last shows on Create & Craft notice the sleeve protectors that Kay was wearing ….. well …. if you’d like to get your hands on a pair they’re available on the IndigoBlu Website ….. WHILE STOCKS LAST!  You can find them under the Accessories section and there’s lots of designs to choose from.  Be quick if you want some …. when they’re gone, they’re gone!!

Thanks for popping by today …. have a great Wednesday, and I’ll see you again soon.

Cheerio for now
