Technique Day – Stamping with Water!

Hi everyone, monday again and here I am with my turn for the technique day post.  I thought I’d show you a simple background with the fab Indigoblu stencils, I’ve used the Regal one.

Firstly, I made my own tag, just cut some card stock, nipped off the top corners, and used my cropodile to make the hole for the ribbon.  If you have tags around then use those, I have ran out.

Then I coloured the tag with three colours of distress ink, just in a random pattern.  You can use any colours.

technique step 2

I then attached the Regal stencil with some stencil tape, over the tag:

technique step 3

Using a spray mister with clean water in, just spritz through the stencil from a distance, to get a fine mist and not over-saturate the cardstock.  Wait a few seconds before lifting the stencil, then heat dry your cardstock.

The result should be something like this:

technique step 4

I then stamped the tag as I wanted, in Stayzon Ganache colour (A very dark brown), Using the Grand Tour I  stamp set.

technique step 5

When you’ve finished stamping, edge round the sides of your card using black soot distress ink, to give definition.

technique step 9

Take a piece of plain ribbon, cream colour, or seam binding etc, and use your distress inks straight from the pad onto the ribbon.

technique step 6

Take your water mister, and spray the ribbon lightly, smoosh it through the ink on the mat, and you will end up with your own coloured ribbon.  (You could also stamp the ribbon with stayzon if you desired).

technique step 8

And so the finished ribbon is rainbow pretty!  Just attach it to your tag and trim the ends.

technique step 10

And so the finished tag looks like this..

technique step 11

That’s it from me for today, hope you have a lovely week all.

Best Wishes,

Nikki K. xx
