Spring Tulip ….

Good afternoon folks ……

Happy Wednesday!

I’m back home after an absolutely fabulous weekend spent over in Retford,  on the IndigoBlu Retreat.  I’m shattered ….. but it was so worth it.  It was 3 fun, craft filled, busy days of getting inky and messy with a cracking bunch of ladies, a couple of teamies from the DT and of course the one and only Kay herself.

I think I’m safe in saying that everyone had a ball.  Thanks to all of the IndigoBlu staff for making us feel so welcome, and for looking after us so well throughout the weekend ……. give yourselves a big pat on the back girls, you deserve it!

And of course a BIG thanks to Kay for coming up with such great projects and working so hard to make sure that we all went home with items to treasure.  I can’t say too much about what we got up to at this stage …. the retreat is being repeated in a few weeks time so I don’t want to spoil it for those of you that are booked on.  All I will say is though, if you’re still thinking about it (I believe that there may be a few spaces left) ….. go for it!   You will have a great time.  Check out here  for details and to see if there’s spaces available.

I’ve got another of my cards from the last Create & Craft show for you today (not had chance to get back in the old craft room properly yet!)

It’s using the gorgeous brand new Nottingham Lace stamp set  …….. love it!!! (Unfortunately, I think it may be out of stock at the moment as I can’t find it on the website …… keep checking back though as I’m sure it’ll be back there soon)

A nice simple design using Kraft cardstock.  For the background piece I used the pretty tulip from the stamp set and randomly stamped around the edge of the card using Versamark ink, giving a watermark effect …

I then stamped the tulip again, this time using Black Versafine ink, onto some white card, and embossed using a clear powder.  This technique is really good when you’re colouring in your images.  The embossed lines act as a resist for you inks, paints, markers etc.,  so that you don’t colour over the lines giving a nice crisp image

I made myself a little tag from kraft card, stamped the sentiment which is from the new More Than Words set (again I think this maybe out of stock unfortunately, as it’s not on the website at the moment).  I added a touch of decoration to the top of the tag using one of the lace borders from Nottingham Lace, and then attached it to the Tulip panel using a piece of natural twine

I mat everything onto black cardstock and attached it to the front of a 6×6 square cardblank.  And, as always finished off the inside to match

It’s so nice to see the spring flowers finally popping their heads out.  Lets hope we’ve seen the last of all that rain.

Thanks for popping by today ….. before I go, a couple of reminders/dates for your diary …….

This weekend you’ll find Kay and the IndigoBlu team at the ICHF Hobbycrafts Show at the NEC in Birmningham.  If you get the chance pop along and say Hello …. it runs Thursday 20th through till Sunday 23rd March.

Then on Monday 24th, Kay is back on the telly.  Create & Craft  11am for a 2 hour Craft Clinic.  Don’t forget to record the show as it’ll be full of great tips and techniques and email in ….. I’m sure there’ll be something fabulous up for grabs.

Well I suppose I’d better get the craft room door opened ….. I’ve been putting it off all day.  It’s the start of a new IndigoBlu Blog Challenge on Friday (eeeekkk!!) and I haven’t even started!  Have you got your entry in for this month?  There’s still time, you have until 8pm tomorrow to be in with a chance of winning this months prize ….. good luck!

That’s it from me this week ….. enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio until next time
