Only one more sleep ……..

Happy Wednesday,

This time tomorrow I shall be across in the UK, meeting up with my crafting buddies, having coffee and cake before setting out on our trip down to Retford.   That’s right, you’ve guessed it ….. we’re going on the IndigoBlu Retreat  …… 3 whole days of getting crafty with the one and only Kay Halliwell-Sutton down at IndigoBlu HQ ….. I cannot wait!!

The case is packed, everything is nearly done (shopping list is written!) and the old craft room door is about to close for the next few days.

Before all that though I do have a couple of my show samples to share with you from the weekend.  Did you all get to see the shows?  I loved the canvas that Kay made live on air ……  great demonstrations and so many fabulous tips too.  What do you think of the new stamps?  …… I told you you’d want them!!!

The Nottingham Lace set  is just sooo nice …. the detail on the stamps is amazing.  Here I’ve used a couple of the stamps from the set along with the gorgeous Rose Blush (have I mentioned I love this stamp!) …….

Did you notice there were quite a few monochrome cards from the DT ….. great minds think alike or what!  I do love my black and white, it works everytime.

For this particular card I went with an 8x8inch finished sized and made the words my focal point using the beautiful lace arch from the Nottingham Lace.

I stamped the Rose Blush across 2 opposite corners of a piece of white cardstock, just using Onyx Black Versafine ink.  The image is so detailed but this particular ink misses none of it.

I then stamped the Rose Blush again, on a seperate piece of card, this time using a grey ink, and overstamped the words slightly in black.  This was then cut out using one of the Nestabilities circle dies.   I drew round the circle onto a piece of black cardstock and then stamped the arch all the way around on the outside, using Flitter Glu and Winter Dawn Mega Flakes

A bit of mat and layering using black and white card, and foam pads on a couple of the layers really gives the card depth and dimension.

To finish off I stamped the large flower from the Rose Blush stamp, a few times onto white cardstock and then cut them out and layered them up….

……. and added a delicate touch of colour to the petals.

As always the inside matches ……

Here’s another option …… same stamps, completely different look …….

The Rose Blush looks fab no matter what you stamp it in …… black or colours.  Just look at all the detail …..

This time the arch was stamped in plain old black ink, and what a statement it makes …….

I’ve taken it slightly off the edge of the card for a different look ……. and this time the sentiment comes from the brand new ‘More Than Word’s set ….. love these, they really made me giggle!

Check out the website for details of all the stamps I’ve used on my cards.  I think they may be out of stock at the moment but it shouldn’t take too long before they’re available again.

Well that’s it for me this week ….. a quick tidy up in the old craft room, double check that I’ve got everything on my list for the retreat and I’m all set to go.

If any of you are going on the retreat this weekend … I’ll see you there.  If you’re going on the one in April ……. I’ll try not to give anything away on my next blog post.

Thanks for popping by ……. until next time
