Monday Monochrome!

Morning everyone,

Did you enjoy the show’s yesterday?  I’m just watching them as I’m typing, trying to catch up.  Absolutely fab demo’s by Kay as always.

The DT samples were beautiful, and I noticed quite a few monochrome cards in there, like we were all in tune with our idea’s.

So I thought I would show you one of my cards from the show.

This is using the stunning Rose Blush stamp, which is now a firm favourite of mine, can’t seem to put it down!  I simply stamped part of it with versafine onyx black in the corners of some perfect stamping card as a background, and then again as the main image.  They were then layered up, and the bow handmade, by taking three pieces of ribbon, one slightly longer than the other, fold them to the centre on the back, and stick them together with double sided or pinflair.  Layer them up and you have a bow.  The butterfly is an Ice Resin embellishment that I made in a mold.   I love the black sparkly ribbon, it was in my Secret Santa from the Indigoblu Christmas staff party, so I don’t know what I’ll do when I run out!

I also showed you a sneak peak of a Nottingham lace and More than word’s card I made last week, so here is the finished one.

I stamped the large lace piece several times onto vellum, and heat embossed in white.  This made my own lace ribbon, which I cut out, and layered.  I diecut the sentiment backgrounds, and stamped the sentiment from More than Words.

I distressed the edge of the card, and in the background I used the regal stencil to put through my big shot, and embossed the background, which I then sanded.  However, you can only just see a tiny amount of it after I layered the card up.

A few roses, and you have a nice vintage lace card.

That’s it from me for this week, Linda and Clare will be with you to give you lot’s more inspiration as the week goes on.

Best Wishes,

Nikki K.

    • Hi Sharon, if you call the Indigoblu office they will be able to help, the website is being changed and I think there are a couple of stamps that I’ve linked to that have moved for now. Apologies for that.
      Best Wishes,
      Nikki K
