One stamp …. two different looks ……

Happy Wednesday everyone,

Hope your week is going well.  I can’t believe we’re over half way through February already …….. it’s only 2 weeks before my birthday (eeek!!) But enough about that …… I’ve got a nice clean and simple card for you today using one of the stamps from the brand new Boadicea set, launched a couple of weeks ago on Create & Craft.

This is my favourite stamp from this particular set, I love it!!!  The sentiment is pretty cool too …… and true!

I wanted to create a really soft look for the background strip …… I masked off an area down the side of a piece of white cardstock, just with some Post-It notes, then applied a couple of shades of Distress inks, building the colour up gradually.

After removing the masks, I stamped the image, using Onyx Black Versafine ink along the length of the inked strip.  You can see that it doesn’t matter which way you use this stamp …… horizontal (as it appears on the front of the stamps) or vertical  as I’ve used it here, it looks great either way.  And the detail is amazing …..

To add a bit more interest to the card I added a touch of embossed detail along the edge ……

I used black card to mat and layer, to make the main image ‘pop’ and added a touch of fine glitter to highlight.

The sentiment, which is also from the Boadicea stamp set, was stamped onto white card and then cut out using Nestabilities dies.  I added just a touch of Distress ink to make everything co-ordinate

As always the inside was inked and stamped to match ……

Here’s another design …… same stamp but completely different look ……

This time I embossed using a fine detail White Embossing powder, and added a touch of colour again using Distress Ink  applied with a water brush …..

You can see I’ve been splattering the ink around again ……

Two looks ….. one stamp.  Which one’s your favourite?

  1. Love them both but , contrary to my usual style, I love the clean, crisp look of the pinky, blue card. Well done.
