Lest We Forget

Hi everyone, sorry my post is late, I had scheduled it to go live on Friday as I have been away for the weekend but some gremlin’s must have got in the works and it didn’t publish. Here it is now.

Happy weekend everyone. Its now the 22nd which means……… The new challenge went live yesterday over on the new challenge blog! The entries we had for the Chocolate Orange challenge were totally amazing, you all blew us away with your ingenuity. The new challenge is Lest We Forget. IndigoBlu have so many poppy stamps to choose from, and some of them are among the most popular ones ever sold. I cant wait to see how differently you use the same poppy stamps.

For my design team inspiration piece I teamed Kroma with the Ickle Poppy stamp, my personal favourite of all the poppies.

First I measured out my two background pieces of IndigoBlu card and painted the smallest one totally with Townhouse Teal paint and the edges of the larger piece only. I then wiped the smaller painted piece with Flitterglu and covered thinly with Kroma Crackle, as Kay does on TV. I heated the Kroma with a heat gun to make it crack and then sealed it with Slap it on.

I then cut out a scalloped edged oval nestie and stamped all around the edge with the side of the English Flourish stamp with distress ink in Peacock Feathers. I stamped two of the Ickle Poppies and coloured in with some watercolour pens then cut them out.

I stamped the Dream from Sarah’s Choice in black Versafine and used a random flourish I found in my bits n bobs box and some lace from my stash. Assembled the whole piece with 3d foam tape and done.

I hope you will join in this months challenge

Thanks for visiting

Clare

  1. I really love this quick Kroma technique and the poppies are beautifully coloured and highlighted.
