Oh no! …… only 9 to go!

Weeks until Christmas that is –  Ho! Ho! Ho! and all that.

Happy Wednesday,

Sorry for the festive reminder, but it seems that everyone has gone Christmas mad this week.  It’s everywhere –  and we haven’t even had Halloween yet!!

Just in case you’re still looking for inspiration for all your Christmas cards here’s another of my designs using the fabulous IndigoBlu Stag Cliffhanger rubber stamp,  the Baubles Flourish and one of my favourite colour combos – Black and White with a hint of festive red ……

It’s another large design, maybe not one you would want to send to everyone, but it makes a nice card for family and special friends.

I started off by making a frame (roughly 7 x 6 inches in size) using the IndigoBlu Coal Black Stamping Card, and then stamped the Baubles Flourish all over using the Flitter Glu and following with the Mega Flakes

I used Winter Dawn Flake to give a nice icy look.  I probably shouldn’t have favourites, but this is definitely one of mine.

I then cut a piece of the IndigoBlu Perfect White Stamping Card to fit behind the frame, and created a nice winter scene using some copier paper masks to do the hills and the moon.

In keeping with the black and white look, I used a grey ink and lightly sponged along the edges of the masks.  You can see I’ve masked off the bottom of the Stag stamp for the main image, and then I’ve used just the tree part to create the look of foliage.  A touch of fine crystal glitter gives the look of snow in the moonlight …….. brrrrr!

The frame was then mounted over the top of the scene, using foam pads to add a bit of depth.   I cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the front of an 8×8 cardblank, attached the frame towards the top and a piece of festive red seam binding across the bottom, to add a splash of colour.  It doesn’t have to be red ribbon, you could add whatever colour you like.  Purple would give a rich feel to the card, or blue would be nice to keep with the frosty look.  The whole thing was then put onto the front of an 8×8 card.

I stamped the sentiment part of the Stag Cliffhanger stamp, cut it out and mat and layered adding in some red cardstock.  I attached it to the bottom of the frame, and added a pretty red bow to the seam binding.

The final touch was a  couple of sparkly die cut snowflakes, finished in the centre with a white pearl.

And of course, I had to decorate the inside too ……

I simply stamped the Baubles Flourish using the Flitter Glu and Flakes again and added a Christmas Greeting – this one comes with the IndigoBlu Merry Christmas Tree stamp

Well, what do you think.  Given you any ideas? I do hope so.
