Chocolate Orange

Brrrr its chilly outside tonight! Winter is barking at the door, but before we get to the lovely wintry white of Christmas we have of course the spooky dark nights of Halloween! My favourite time of the year! Speaking of Autumn and all things spooky, this months Challenge over on the sparkly new challenge blog is Chocolate Orange!

For my inspiration piece this time I decided to create a card with one of my favourite IndigoBlu Stamps. I started with a base layer of Kraft card and edged it with the Copper Kettle Mega Flake just like Kay does on the telly. I then took some of the amazingly smooth White Stamping Card and randomly stamped around the edge one of the new as yet to bee seen on TV Dinkie stamps, English Flourish with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I repeated this step offsetting it and gilded it with Copper Kettle Flake. Did you know that most new stamps are on the Website before they make it to Create and Craft? This new flourish has fast become one of my most favourites!

Next I stamped out the owl and phrase from the wonderful Hocus pocus stamp set with Vintage Sepia Versafine ink. I cut out the owl with a circle die and made a matching circle in Kraft card, repeating for the phrase apart from cutting it with a trimmer and not a nesting die. I added some orange ribbon and pearls from my stash and put the card together with a 3d aspect for the main image and phrase.

I really love how this one has turned out. I do love that Rusty Hinge ink and it goes so nicely with Kraft and the Vintage Sepia colours.

I do hope you will join us on this months challenge and must hint that something special for the end of the year this way comes! So keep watching and entering!

Thanks for visiting

  1. Like a lot of people, I’ve never really been a fan of orange, but I love the Rusty Hinge on this, Clare. And whats not to love with that beautiful owl. Well done, Honey. xx
