Baby’s First Christmas

Happy Wednesday!

Phew!! What a busy old couple of weeks it’s been.  What with Craft Shows, Kay on the telly, the new look to the IndigoBlu website and the Blog’s had a makeover too!  What do you think to our new look?   There’s still a little bit of  ‘tweeking’ this and that going on but I think it looks fab!

Did you all manage to catch Kay on Create & Craft with the launch of IndigoBlu’s brand new stamp designs, what do think?  I just love Sleeping George, and Baby Aloysius –  aren’t they just adorable.

Today, I thought I’d share with you  the frame that I made  ………

It started out as a plain MDF frame which was covered with a layer of White Gee-So Good and then painted using the English Cottage Artist Acrylic Paint in the Pantry White shade.  I then dry brushed  over the frame using Grandma’s Teacup and Iced Pink Gem shades

Once the paint was dry, I stamped the small cluster of snowflakes from the Season’s Greetings stamp set, across two opposite corners on the frame, using Flitter Glu, then followed with Winter Dawn Mega Flake

Sleeping George was then stamped onto some white IndigoBlu stamping card, and the winter scene was then added around him, using Distress Inks and masks, and a little touch of fine glitter.  The little Christmas Tree in the background is from the IndigoBlu ‘Here Comes Santa’  stamp set, and you can just about see that I’ve used the snowflakes again from the Seasons Greetings set …… stamped in White Stazon.

I masked off part of the new Baby’s First Christmas sentiment, using low tack masking tape, as I only wanted to use the words

It was then mat and layered using mirri card to add a bit of shine, and then the whole thing was put into the frame.  I’d already covered the inside of the frame with some very sparkly glitter card, and to finish off  I added some tiny Christmas baubles.  I kept to the frosty blue shades but these could be any colour you like – pink for a girl, or the traditional red and green for Christmas – very festive!

I put the date to the back, but you could add the baby’s name, or use this space to stamp a sentiment or greeting.  It could be used to journal the baby’s details, birth date and time, weight etc.

What a nice keepsake for all those newest members of the family.

I also made a matching card using the same stamps, only this time I added the Ickle Christmas Tree to the background ……..

And I just had to put Sleeping George onto a bauble now didn’t I!

Another pretty little keepsake for a special little person.

Sleeping George isn’t just for Christmas cards though, he’s intended to be used all year round, and not just for babies either.

Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for popping by today.

Cheerio for now
