Stylised Flowers

Buongiorno!

I’m currently sat in a beautiful hotel, just off St. Marks square, in the the romantic city of Venice.

Yes, my Italian adventure continues.  Not for much longer though, 3 more full days then it’s time to fly back to the UK – sigh!

As I haven’t seen the inside of my craft room for nearly two weeks now, I’m afraid I have nothing brand new to show you.  That’s all going to change when I get back home though – I have a lovely big box of goodies waiting for me when I get back, loads of work to do.  I’m going to be busy busy busy …….. but that’s another story!

Here’s some more of my last lot of show samples using the new Indigo Blu Stylised Flowers stamp ……….

For this card I inked up my background first using various shades of pink and green Distress inks.  I then spritzed water over the top, let it sit for a few seconds then mopped up the excess with some kitchen roll.

I stamped the flowers onto the card, first using a pink shade of ink, then again in green, and added a touch of sparkle with some fine glitter.

The beautiful new Take Flight bird has been coloured using the same shades of Distress ink, cut out and layered onto the card to add a bit of dimension.

The words in the background are from the stamp set  Sarah’s Choice  and I also added a little tag just to finish everything off.

This one’s a little more quick and easy.  Same stamp sets – Stylised Flowers and Sarah’s Choice only this time stamped in black ink.  I then punched a circle from a piece of copy paper and used the outer piece as a mask to add my colours through.

A few dots of glitter glue here and there, add a bit of sparkle.

For the last one I used my Pan Pastels.   I blended two or three shades onto some white card stock then stamped my image using Versamark ink.  I then dusted over the top with one of the Pan Pastels again and voila! …….. there’s my flowers.

I used Versamark Ink again to create the subtle background around the edges of my card

and to finish off I dotted a glue pen on some of the spots, let the glue go tacky then added  Sheffield Steel Mega Flakes

Well that’s it from Venice.  I’m off to do a spot of sightseeing this morning, and possibly a bit of shopping (it would be a shame not to!)  It’s been a while since we were here, last time was when hubby brought me for my 40th birthday! It hasn’t changed much, just got busier.  We’re even staying in the same hotel (he can be romantic sometimes!)  Then, it’s up to Lake Garda later today before we head off back to our villa on Lake Como.

Thanks for popping by today.  Enjoy the rest of your week.

Don’t forget the current Forever 21 Challenge is up and running.  This month’s theme is Backgrounds Galore!  Go on ….. get your Indigo Blu stamps out and create something fabulous.  There’s another great prize up for grabs.

See you all next week.

Happy crafting!

Linda  xx
