Poppy bookmark

Hello Indigo Blu fans,

It’s me (Linda) again.  We’ve got a bit of sunshine here on the Isle of Man today so I thought I’d share something with a bit of a Spring feel to it.

It’s another of my show samples using the Blazing Poppies stamp ……

This isn’t just a card, it also has a little gift – a bookmark, something which everyone uses at some point.

It’s really quick and simple to do.  I used an A5 card clank, tent fold, and rounded the bottom two corners.  I stamped the poppies onto some pale pink cardstock, just in black Versafine ink, and randomly stamped the Crackleglaze background around the edges.  I then mat this onto some pale blue cardstock and attached to the front of my card – rounding off the bottom corners to match the base.

The pocket on the front is just another piece of pink cardstock decorated with the same stamp along with one of the sentiments from the Rococo set.  I added a scalloped edge, and the white strip just to make the pocket stand out a little.  Attach the pocket to the card using strong double-sided tape (remembering to leave the top edge open!!).

The bookmark itself was cut from Indigo Blu Perfect stamping card, and the poppies stamped again, this time using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, so that I could colour the flowers with Copic markers.  I added a thin layer of Glossy Accents over the poppies and sprinkled with Glamour Dust while they were still wet.

Spun Sugar Distress Ink was brushed around the edges to finish it off and I tied a blue tassle from my stash to the top.

There’s also a hidden message underneath the bookmark ……

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Live Laugh Love stamp set and cut out some of the words.  I attached them to the card so that they would be underneath the bookmark, and visible once the bookmark had been removed – no empty space then.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for popping by today.  Enjoy the rest of your week, and I’ll see you all again soon.

Happy crafting!

Cheerio for now

Linda  xx

  3. Fab card, thank you for sharing. I will give it a go. At the moment i am busy with that very stamp on a set of wooden ducks given me by one of my sons years ago, they are looking very tired and i decided to spruce them up a bit. I just love your products and ideas, they have been truly motivating for me. Thank you.
